Information that may be collected
A name, location, or other term entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. Marion County Busted Mugshots does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems. If a visitor sends an email or other direct message, we may retain the sender's contact details and message so that we can respond and keep a record of the exchange.
Like many websites, the service and its providers can receive technical information during a page visit.
- Internet Protocol address and approximate network location.
- Browser type, browser version, device type, and operating system.
- Pages viewed, time spent on a page, referring site, and visit timestamps.
- Cookies or comparable identifiers used to operate, measure, and support the site.
Cookies help us understand site use. Browser controls can block or clear them, although some functions may then work differently.
How information is used
Information is used to keep the service available, route a search request to the appropriate partner, understand which local-records pages help visitors, and find technical problems. We may also use aggregated activity information to improve page performance and to support advertising that may be relevant to a visitor's interests.
Links, partners, and advertising
This site links to sheriff, jail, court, corrections, and other government resources, as well as outside search tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, that destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use of information. We are not responsible for its content, availability, or data practices.
Advertising partners may collect activity across different websites for interest-based advertising on their own systems. Their tools, choices, and policies are separate from this notice.
When information may be shared
We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed or made available to providers that help operate the site, and when a valid legal order requires it.
- Search partners that receive a query entered into their tool.
- Analytics providers that help measure traffic and identify service errors.
- Advertising networks that supply or measure advertising.
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal process.
Security and children
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information, but no internet-connected system can promise complete security. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive personal information through ordinary email. The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from a person under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may ask for its deletion.

Browser settings and partner controls may offer additional cookie or advertising choices. This notice can change as the service changes. A revised version takes effect when posted here.
